BIODETOX DAY 16-24
We are well on our way into biological and physical detox. Over 2 weeks in and we have discovered or uncovered why we are here, ways we can support ourselves in the process with breath work and meditation, as well as the organs of detox and how they interconnect to our bodies on multiple levels. Now lets circle back to some basics: food, water, sleep. The next 3 days will focus on how do you nourish yourself, your relationship to food, self-care and deep rest and relaxation.
BIODETOX 16
Nourishment
One of the biggest rituals we do every day, multiple times a day, is eat. We spend a decent amount of time thinking about food, talking about food, preparing food. Shopping for food, cleaning up after food and eating food, meals by ourselves, with others, as a family, in the car, on the go and as a ceremony.
Changing food habits for any extended period of time 3 days to 40 days takes a COMMITMENT. A choice, to change habits, and create change in our lives on a deeper level. No one can do it for you. You have to choose and have a choice that comes from a deep level of internal commitment. Once you choose and create a non-negotiable regimen in regards to eating patterns for a committed period of time you will be able to create a new sense of self-expression, a new way to fill space. This relationship allows things to open up and the commitment will and can give you freedom. In a recent talk Kia Miller quoted a Indian Saint as saying, “Commit like a man who’s hair is on fire seeks a pond” and see what happens on a heart and soul level, deeper than just the mind.
What is your relationship to food?
Do you eat to survive, food as fuel?
Do eat food you enjoy?
Do you eat food for comfort?
Do you NOT eat as a form of restriction, punishment or denial of self-care?
How do you feel after eating certain foods?
How do you feel on this detox?
What is your energy like?
Do you use food as medicine?
Do you need to redefine your relationship with food?
How can you nourish yourself, respectfully, in a kind, caring way, in regards to food?
What are your commitments?

BIODETOX DAY 17
Water
Water Water Water! We cant talk about nourishment with out including water.
Water is the main constituent making up your body weight up to 75%!
Encompassing all of our cells, water carries nutrient and oxygen to the cells and maintains homeostasis between the electrolytes in our body. It helps rid toxins from the body through the kidneys and liver to flush out waste.
Dehydration affects brain health…it helps you think more clearly, stay focused and increases alertness & memory ….85% of your brain is water and
…happy brain happy body!
Lean muscle and bones are over 90% water. It increases energy supplying our muscles with fluidity and fuel, lubricating the joints.
It eases digestion, absorption of food as well as elimination.
It boosts our immune system by keeping all of the cells functioning properly and enhances intracellular communication.
Staying hydrated slows aging…it keeps you looking and feeling younger.
Thirst can be mistaken for hunger so try a glass of water before each meal.
A 5% decrease in hydration leads to 25% reduction in energy.
A main cause of headache, irritability, constipation, fatigue, dry skin and itchy eyes….dehydration
How much is enough? A good rule to go by is to drink 1/2 or your body weight in fluid ounces each day plus an additional 8 ounces for every 20 minutes of aerobic activity and an additional 8 ounces for any "vice", i.e caffeine, sugar, etc. Test it out, you may need more or less.
Don’t get dehydrated. This is a form of neglect and lack of self-care.
The Hidden Messages in Water by Masaru Emoto, A must read! A remarkable experiment acknolwdeing how our words, thoughts and daily exposures affect us on a cellular level. The cells in our body, primarily made up of water are energetically and vibrationally changed based on what and who we are exposed to, what our concentrated thoughts are. “The implications of this research create a new awareness of how we can positively impact the earth and our personal health.”
“I particularly remember one photograph. It was the most beautiful and delicate crystal that I had so far seen – formed by being exposed to the words “love and gratitude.” It was as if the water had rejoiced and celebrated by creating a flower in bloom. It was so beautiful that I can say that it actually changed my life from that moment on.”

PS: Fun Facts!
75% of Americans are chronically dehydrated. (This likely applies to half the world population)
Even MILD dehydration will slow down one's metabolism as much as 3%.
One glass of water shut down midnight hunger pangs for almost 100% of the dieters studied in a University of Washington study.
Lack of water is the #1 trigger of daytime fatigue.
Preliminary research indicates that 8-10 glasses of water a day (half of that coming from food and drinks other than plain water) could significantly ease back and joint pain for up to 80% of sufferers.
A mere 2% drop in body water can trigger fuzzy short-term memory, trouble with basic math, and difficulty focusing on the computer screen or on a printed page.
Drinking 5 glasses of water daily decreases the risk of colon cancer by 45%, the risk of breast cancer by 79%, and one is 50% less likely to develop bladder cancer. Are you drinking the amount of water you should every day?
BIODETOX DAY 18
Rest and Relaxation
Sleep. One of the basic human needs we all have. Some need more, some need less, but we all need it or we will die or start to go somewhat crazy!
How do you sleep?
Do you honor that time and experience?
Do you really allow yourself space for winding down at the end of the day, stopping forward thinking, shutting off the iPhone or TV shows and invite in relaxation?
Do you fall asleep well? Stay asleep?
Do you dream, have nightmares?
What does your sleep and dreamworld tell you?
Are you comfortable? Do you need a new pillow or mattress?
Are you in pain? Do you need body work to balance physical ailments?
Do certain foods or drinks affect your sleep?(alcohol can really do it causing early am waking, 3 am, blood sugar surge and drop)
Are you sleeping better on the detox?
Do you wake up hungry? Are you eating enough to sustain sleep?
Do you wake rested?
What is your energy like in the day?
Do you need caffeine or think you need it?
Create space and give attention to your sleep patterns, sleep hygiene, and sleep support. Getting well rested at night will promote grounded energy in the day and the ability to tap into a restful, grounded state to maintain relaxation within the parasympathetic nervous system versus the sympathetic nervous system. Lack of sleep, unrestful sleep, not enough hours of sleep before midnight, technology and TV before bed, alcohol and caffeine will all stimulate the sympathetic “fight or flight” nervous system and get you wired although tired and keep you there.
What can you do to get rested and sleep deeply?
What can you undo or get rid of to support sleep self-care?

BIODETOX DAY 19
HABITS
This detox process is really about self-care and self-awareness. The physical component of using diet changes and limitations is to clear the pathways so we can delve in to the deeper levels of heart and soul desires. Clarity comes when we are no longer addicted, reliant on or trapped by food choices/routine choices and must haves or cant haves. These habits aren’t really even choices any more they are just automatic responses, going on auto-pilot, cruise control. Letting go of daily caffeine alone always surprises me at how much I relied on it, felt I had to have it or would just collapse and die, but in ridding it from my daily habit and routine, I am FREE! There is so much freedom in not needing, wanting, forcing, falling into the trap of blind routine.
The goal here is to pay attention and BREAK FREE of habitual, repetitive actions and find liberation. To engage in actions that take us out of our conditioned behavior to create inner peace and contentment. This takes courage and energy. This takes choice and commitment. There is discomfort and fear in the unknown and ease in repetition. To change and grow we need to do things differently and challenge ourselves to engage in radical action. Let go of fear and repetition to get connected to your own inner truth. In that place you will find clarity and radiance
This may be one of the biggest concepts in this whole process. You are primed for it! Daily practice of meditation and breath work can be paramount to engage and accelerate in this process and promote self, promote clarity. I hope you are keeping up with your mantra and meditation if it resonates with you.
At the half way point lets take some time to see what has actually changed and shifted for better or worse and be radically honest with ourselves with what has not!
What actions are you taking to BREAK FREE of routine?
What changes are you making towards liberation and self care?
What is serving you that you can commit to and what can you let go of?
Are you being honest with yourself in your choices or are you just passing time, indirect deception of self?

BIODETOX DAY 20
Day 20 Check In/FullMoon Ritual
Half Way !!!! You did it! It is all down hill from here.
Congratulations.
Lets use today as a pause, a freebie day to just check in, pull our heads up and look around a little bit.
How are you doing?
Better?
Worse?
What are the pros and cons of this cleanse in regards to dietary habits or limitations?
Do you feel an freedom on your life or expansion in regards to self care?
Have you opened yourself up to any new discoveries of what you really need or desire in your life?
I am definitely feeling challenged by the diet. I cant seem to keep up with the cooking and eating to avoid feeling loopy and hypoglycemic. I am hoping my body will hit some type of "re-set" button with out grains and legumes OR I just may be someone who needs those things in my diet. Undecided. I am willing to stick with it for this short time and see what happens. I am not loving it to say the least. I feel like I am eating to survive but not really enjoying it. I love to eat and want to love to eat so I will be happy when I can make some rice :)
What I am loving is the space it has opened up for me to address self - care. I have been able to commit to shutting my computer off and not opening it even ONCE two days a week and possibly a third depending on work. In place of technology those days I do yoga, I cook meals, I read, I play with my kids and just sit with them and be together. I love it. I have also noticed a very significant change in my energy level that has had me a bit confused the last 3 weeks. I cant say my energy is "better" as in more energy but it is better because I am more grounded. The resonation of my normal internal speed kept me in a constant hum of go go go, running on adrenaline and a OCD type drive to get every dish washed, every chart completed, every email answered, all tasks must be completed or bust, dont sleep or breathe just DO. I dont feel that. I feel settled. I feel grounded. I feel good. ...and I still get everything done I just do it at a different pace and in a new routine. I think I have tuned out to tune in!
I would love to hear from you and trade stories with the group. Please share!
You are amazing!!!
I encourage you to do another moon ritual in honor of your radiance, in honor of “letting go ” or in honor of “calling in” the things you want to manifest or radiate in your life.
Full Moon’s are really harvest time, a time for you to reap all that you have sown in the last month and to finally release and let go of things that no longer serve you.
In many ways, Full Moon’s allow you to cut down what you no longer need and to benefit from all the hard work you have put in to manifesting during the New Moon.
Full Moon’s are a potent time, and on a deeper level they activate us to merge with our full potential. They also help us to see things in a new light and often they can reveal things to us.
Full Moon Letting Go Ritual
This ritual is perfect for letting go and releasing all that no longer serves you.
You will need:
A small bowl of water
1 blue or white candle
Paper and pen
Sage for burning
Find a sacred space, preferably under the light of the Full Moon where you will not be disturbed
Smudge your aura and your area using the sage or any other cleansing medium that you prefer
Light the candle and give thanks to Mother Moon, have your bowl of water near the candle
Write down on the paper all that no longer serves you or things that you want to release. This could include attitudes, emotions, relationship ties, illness, habits, addictions, etc.
State what you want to release aloud and take a deep breath, as you exhale imagine whatever you want to let go floating away
Place the paper into the candle (be safe!) and watch it burn. When it becomes too hot to touch, drop it into the water.
Once the paper has become soggy, throw the water and paper into the garden. If your paper doesn’t dissolve you can also throw it away.
Be sure to thank the Moon and the Universe after your ritual is completed
You can adapt this ritual to suit your needs and your own intuition. There is no right or wrong here, so just go with the flow and see what inspirations come to you.
Happy Full Moon!

BIODETOX DAY 21
Don’t Let your BIOGRAPHY become your BIOLOGY? If your life story has created who you are to the point where you say the words, tell the story, walk the walk, and believe the talk in a hypnotic way then that story has had the potential to change you on a cellular level and create imbalances in the body especially if the predominant story or emotions are impacting you in a negative way. Go Deep. Who wrote this story, did you, parents, intimate relationships? Based on what events? Is it truth? Do you believe it and why? Is this an agreement you have blindly accepted without even really knowing its truth or impact?
Is it time to rewrite the script?!
Spend some time reflecting on this. Imagine if you went back in time and were confronted with forks in the road at different times in your life. Would you have taken the same road or an alternate ? What would be different? What would you change and why? What can you do to change it now or change your perception of it? Do you need to change it at all? Are you free to accept those paths and move forward uninhibited? How can you live your life now and what are you doing now so that the path you are living is in alignment with who you truly are?

BIODETOX DAY 22
CORE BELIEFS
This is day two of stepping into this topic of who we really are based on our core beliefs as TRUTH and not who we are based on HABIT, our story, or who other people think we are. To tap into to your core belief system connect to your inner sense of self to find your baseline, your stable inner ground, ask the child inside of you what is really important. A deep inner connection will allow you to then radiate out, life can become effortless, your radiance will speak for you, it is a natural process of just being. This inner work will keep you connected and in sync with the daily power of the universe.
Think of the radiance and beauty in nature. It just is.
What is important to you?
What are your core beliefs? List three.
Are your decisions/actions in alignment with those beliefs?
What is your “nature,” your natural state of being?

BIODETOX DAY 23
Connection and Relationships to Others
Clean house in 2018. At times of change, changes in seasons, change in diet and habits it is a great time to clean house. Dust off the cobwebs. Rearrange things and look at them differently with fresh eyes. This is something you may have already been drawn to do physically in your house or environment as well as in connection to others.
Get clear this year on your relationships to others and how you interact. Create or change your relationships to make sure you feel safe, that you feel seen, and allow yourself to lovingly express your truth. Move away from the unspoken and illusion and move towards truth and authentic power.
As Yogi Bhajan says, to realize “ and recognize the other person is me.”
Are there relationships in your life you need to end or make efforts to change?
Are there conversations you need to have with certain people to improve your communication or set boundaries ?
Do you need to walk away from anyone in your life or let anyone go in order to meet your potential?
What do you need to do, what action do you need to take, to make sure you are living up to your best self and holding ground with solid connection to others?
Much Love and Peace *

BIODETOX DAY 24
Service to Others
Inner cleansing can activate and elevate energy so you are primed to recognize your purpose in life and how you can realign with your soul purpose. In this process, your true purpose will reveal how you can be of service to others. In your true being, in the act of just being you, you can uplift and elevate all those you come in contact with. You can walk into a room and have a positive influence on people with out even saying a word.
What makes you shine?
What is your innate beauty?
What you were born doing well and just radiate that quality?
What have you worked really hard on to do well that positively impacts your life and others
What do you do effortlessly that has a positive impact on the universe?
List 5 things you do great!
How can you use that to be of service to others?
What is your true purpose, is it in alignment with your actions?
If you haven’t started already I find that Kundalini yoga is a catalyst for this process. To elevate and activate your inner light ~To elevate and activate your inner energy body and exude radiance!
Raj Yoga Studio is local to Boulder to participate in weekly classes. Highly recommended.
Kia Miller is absolutely the best teacher I can recommend to introduce you to this practice on-line. She has classes on yogaglo if you are not able to see her locally (California) or in workshops. She comes to Boulder every summer for Hanuman Festival.
